the report"SHARING BENEFITS FROM REDD+ IN NEPAL:Issues, Options and Proposed Principles for Benefit Sharing Mechanism"

WWF Nepal has published the report"SHARING BENEFITS FROM REDD+ IN NEPAL:Issues, Options and Proposed Principles for Benefit Sharing Mechanism" which is an outcome of the study undertaken by Winrock Interantional and WWF Nepal under the project “Early Action
Forest Carbon Project To Prepare for REDD and Have Equitable Carbon
Financing Mechanism in Place”. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Government of Finland has provided financing support to the project.

The basic objective of this study is to identify issues, options and propose basic
principles of an effective, equitable and efficient benefit sharing mechanism for
REDD+ in Nepal through the consultation with wider stakeholders at various levels.
It is anticipated that the proposed options and principles will further facilitate current discourse on REDD+ and designing of BSM in Nepal. The study primarily focuses at raising and discussing important issues and options related to BSM, to draw on experiences from such mechanisms already in use in the forest sector and to relate these lessons to BSM for REDD+.
